A TRIBUTE TO OUR SISTER, DIANE BURNS
When you think of our sister, Diane Burns, you think of soccer. Diane loved everything about soccer and inspired so many people – on and off the field.
We hope our new #goals shirt can inspire young girls to be like Di: to love and respect the beautiful game of soccer, to set big goals (on and off the field), and to create teammates for life.
Diane was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in 2014, at the far-too-young age of 38. After facing cancer with courage and grace for many years, Diane passed away in July 2018.
Soccer was intertwined in Diane’s life. She met her husband playing soccer. She built amazing friendships that went far beyond the field (like when she inspired her teammates to run a marathon and raise tens of thousands of dollars for cancer research). Her play at midfield – where she was known for being selfless and making the perfect “Di pass” – was a testament to her character off the field, too.
Diane inspired countless people. We miss her terribly every day, and our new soccer design is one of many ways we are honoring her memory.
We will donate 10% of the proceeds from every soccer shirt to Powered by Hope, a nonprofit foundation dedicated to providing hope, strength, peace and education to cancer patients.
